American Jewish Committee (AJC) is partnering with the Israeli relief agency IsraAID and the Turkish Jewish community to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to victims and survivors of the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey.
“Like the rest of the world, we are trying to come to grips with the devastation from the earthquake and mourn those killed,” said AJC CEO Ted Deutch. “The needs for relief are immense and we are proud to support the efforts of IsraAid and the Turkish Jewish community, who are on the ground providing badly needed help. The Jewish community will continue to stand with those whose lives have been torn apart by this disaster as they embark on the long road to recovery.”
AJC's donation to support relief efforts in Turkey come from the agency’s Heilbrunn Humanitarian Relief Fund.

Humanitarian relief has been a core of AJC's work for more than a century. The global advocacy organization for the Jewish people has long partnered with IsraAID in crises around the world, and has historic ties with the Turkish Jewish community.
