American Jewish Committee (AJC) is supporting IsraAID efforts to furnish urgent humanitarian supplies to Guatemala following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Eta in the Central American country. The AJC donation will help IsraAID acquire and deliver medical supplies, hygiene items, water filters, first aid supplies, and expressive art materials.
“Our hearts go out to the Guatemalan people, who have lost loved ones and homes in this powerful storm,” said Dina Siegel Vann, director of AJC’s Arthur and Rochelle Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs.
Aiding Guatemala is the latest in a long series of cooperative arrangements between AJC and IsraAid to help alleviate humanitarian crises and disasters around the world, via the Israeli organization’s vast on-the-ground experience.
