In honor of the 75th anniversary of Israel's rebirth, AJC Global Forum—the premier annual global Jewish advocacy event—returned to Israel, convening for the first time in Tel Aviv. The plenary on the third day gave American Jewish Committee (AJC) an opportunity to hear from a number of voices on AJC’s core issues: Israel’s National Unity Party Chairman Benny Gantz spoke powerfully about his hopes for bringing Israeli society together and thanked AJC for the role it plays in countering antisemitism; Second Gentleman of the U.S. Doug Emhoff talked of the valuable strategic input AJC provided as the new U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism was developed; the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Kosovo Enver Hoxhaj highlighted how close coordination between AJC and his country helped Kosovo decide to declare Iran-backed Hezbollah a terrorist organization; the honorees of the AJC Sharon Greene Award for Campus Advocacy—Lily Cohen and Ethan Less from Northwestern University Hillel, as well as Charlotte Aaron, Milton Zerman, and Hannah Krutsiansky from the Jewish Students Association at Berkeley Law—described how AJC provided the support and guidance they needed to continue to proudly express their Jewish identity on campus; and, in one of the most thought-provoking AJC Great Debates in recent history, Dr. Yehuda Kurtzer, President of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, and Ariel Kahana, Senior Diplomatic Correspondent at Israel Hayom, spoke passionately about the role of American Jews in Israeli affairs.
